Dr. Rodney Mushininga holds a PhD in Computer Science Education from University of KwaZulu Natal South Africa, 2021.He is a Lecturer at Botho University Blended and Distance Learning Campus (BDLC), where he lectures Computing related modules at Masters level. He is also a lecturer at Sol Plaatje University, Kimberley, South Africa where he also lectures Computing modules.
Dr. Mushininga has extensive teaching experience in Computer Science and Information Technology at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He is currently supervising three Information Technology postgraduate research students at Eduvos College, Midrand Campus, South Africa. His research interest is Artificial intelligence with special focus on Swarm Intelligence.
Dr Mushininga’s lecturing experience dates back to 2009 when he was a Lecturer at Limkokwing University in the Faculty of Information Communication Technology(ICT). He rose through the ranks and was promoted to Programme Leader responsible for Software Engineering Programmes. During his tenure as a Programme leader, he led a team in the development and accreditation of BSc (Hons) Software Engineering with Multimedia. In 2013 he moved to Botho University where he was employed as a Senior Lecturer up to February 2018. He then relocated to South Africa to finalise his PhD program. On Completion of his PhD Dr. Mushininga Joined IIEMSA (Monash) as an independent contractor Lecturer, lecturing Programming and Database related modules. In 2022 he joined Sol Plaatje University and Botho University (BDLC) as a lecturer.
He examines Honors and Masters thesis for universities around the globe and he is an external moderator and an examiner for Sol Plaatje University, ABM College Botswana, Limkokwing University Botswana, Monash University (Teach out programmes). In addition to all mentioned above Dr. Mushininga is also a Content Developer and Examiner for IIE Information Technology modules, involving manual development, outline development and assessment development and moderation.
