The Ministry of Health and the implementing partners led by the Honourable Minister of Health, Mr. Selibe Mochoboroane graced the Lesotho Campus on the 29th February 2024 at the Maseru Mall campus. This vibrant event with multitudes of students in attendance was for creating awareness on the different types of cancers, specifically cervical cancer of which mortality rates have risen among Basotho women and indeed at a global stage. Moreover, the presence of the Minister & the implementing partners was to create awareness to the University community on the available preventive measures & treatments for young girls and women.
At this event our female students were vaccinated against Human Papillomavirus (HPV) and also screened for Cervical cancer. The following services were also offered; Counseling and HTS, Dental screening services and Blood donation. On his part, the Honourable Minister pleaded with all female students to take advantage of available health services & products especially vaccinating against the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) as it has proven to be a scourge in modern human life.
